21 Century Garden Art – The Green World of Fernando Caruncho
Synopses
The documentary presents four gardens in Madrid and Catalonia created by Fernando Caruncho: Gardens embedded into the most beautiful native landscapes of Spain, and with which they communicate. Featured among theses works are the Waterlily Garden S'agaro on the Costa Brava, and those on the country estate Mas de les Voltes near Girona. These gardens are created to provide an alternative world, far from the hectic pace of everyday life. Fernando Caruncho, who humbly insists on the title "gardener," creates his gardens as places for visitors to find restored balance and joy in their lives. And if his work clearly has roots in both ancient Islamic and Renaissance garden traditions, his garden art is among the most modern of our age.
