21 Century Garden Art – The Experimental Gardens of Vladimir Sitta

Synopses

Twenty years ago Vladimir Sitta arrived in Australia as an immigrant, bringing to the 5th Continent many new ideas for the creation of contemporary gardens. In the intervening years the Czech native has established himself as an "impulse giver" and innovator in urban garden design. In a strongly expressive design style, he merges modern minimalist design traditions to the opulence and theatricality of the Baroque. He views a garden as a stage upon which the most diverse of subjects may be played. His leading actors are the four elements: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. In order to set the garden scene with these actors as his cast, Vladimir Sitta uses technical special effects - not hesitating to use Fire as an element upon his garden stage.
